What is a Keyword in SEO?

Keywords in SEO are phrases/Bunch of Phrase under which you want your website to be Rank in Search engines Result page (SERP).
If we talk about the Keywords they are typically two-to-five-word phrases. We can only expect people to search whose word in the search engine. Keywords are not about what your Content, Stuff, or product/Service is called. Keywords are what your customer call/Pronounce/relate your Content, Stuff, or product/Service. Keywords are the phrase which your potential user or existing user may type in a search box.

So if a person searches "dental service" he will be getting dental services related pages in the Search results. Do you think your website will be there in the search result, Yes probably on the 50th page or on the top If you are the best It can be on the first page! If not, why!

Obviously, you have clearly mentioned in your website that you are providing Dental service, though there are a lot more Dental services available so how you can be on the top.

  7. Using the keyword in your Content(Blogs, Article, Product descriptions).

Types of keywords in SEO

Short-tail keyword

As the name indicates these keywords are short. Short tail keywords are of three words or less. The short tail keyword has a huge search volume with quite high competition. It's very difficult to rank on such keywords. let's learn this with the example

If someone searches for "The Club" The results can be related to a golf club, Dance club, Movie: the club, Hotel: the club. Hope you understand How theclub.com or your webpage optimized for "the club" keyword can't be on top unless until it has its fame or popularity.

Long-tail keyword

These keywords are of more than three words. You should keep one thing in mind as long the keyword will be, the more specific will be the search result. Usually, long keywords don't have a high search volume but they cover this with the specific targeted traffic and less competition. Example: "Top five best seo tool 2019"

Event keyword

These keywords have the short-term search volume last for a couple of months. For example Examination results "CBSE Result 2019". These type of keywords are very often used by event blogger. It's quite easy to rank on such keywords.

Long-term keyword

Long-term keywords are those which have moderate search volume every time. they don't show that much of competition as compared to long tail keywords. Some of the categories of long-term keywords are Diseases, encyclopedia, Educational, History, Monuments, etc.

Product keyword

These keywords define your Product/services. Using this keyword one can easily increase his conversions. A person searching for a specific service which you provide will find you easily using the exact keyword. Such keywords have very high competition as these keywords are well known by every industry, they are also used in placing Ads, PPC.

Customer Focusing keyword

These keywords describe for whom your content is for. "Web Development service for Startups" here web development is only for startups. These keywords vary with ages gender, designations, relations, a lot more. Their Results are very specific, very low search volume with low competitions

Demographic keyword

Like the name, the keyword phrase includes the demographic information "Los anglos based SEO Company" can be a good example. Using the keywords you can target an audience from a specific location or related to there location.

LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing)

LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) Keywords are thematic keywords that are closely related to your main keyword. you will easily understand with this example let us suppose your main keyword is "what is SEO"

You can use them as your supporting keywords to boost up the ranking our your main keyword, they have low search volume, low competition but they all support your main keywords
